Volunteers play a vital role in sustaining the treasures that are the Washington State Parks). We need helping hands for a wide variety of short and long-term projects, providing interesting and rewarding volunteer opportunities for individuals, couples, schools, families, corporations, citizen groups and service organizations
Bookkeeper Wanted!
Friends of Fort Worden is seeking a volunteer bookkeeper.
The Friends of Fort Worden State Park is recruiting a volunteer bookkeeper in preparation for our current bookkeeper’s plans to step down this summer.
The Friends is an all-volunteer nonprofit service organization.
Primary duties and responsibilities of the bookkeeper include:
· Set up payment of bills and reimbursements, according to Friends of Fort Worden policies, using the Friends’ bank’s bill-pay service. Final payment authorization for bill-pay is made by the treasurer.
· Download bank transactions into the Friends’ QuickBooks Online account, assign general ledger account numbers, add relevant information as needed, and post transactions.
· Download online donations report and categorize donations in QuickBooks.
· At the end of each month, download and print bank statements and reconcile bank accounts in QuickBooks, review balance sheets and income statements, and print reports.
· Set up and maintain a filing system and ensure that all payment and deposit documentation is filed along with bank statements and reconciliations.
· Experience with QuickBooks Online and full charge bookkeeping is recommended.

Trail Team
The Friends of Fort Worden seek volunteers for trail stewardship to help maintain and promote the safe and wise use of trails and beaches. The "Trail Team" helps steward the trails and beaches of Fort Worden by helping the Park Rangers communicate positive information with visitors, reporting problems and creating work parties to repair trails or remove invasive vegetation.

If you have expertise in writing, marketing, social media, fundraising, and event planning, we’d love to have your help! We’re also looking for people to join our board of directors. But whatever your interest, we can find a place for you on our team!
