Two Ways to Help the Fort: Muscles or Money!

The Trail Team needs you!  Spring has sprung and invasives are exploding in the park.  We badly need more people to help handle the surge. To make it easier for you to lend a hand, we’re offering two ways to help:

Got Muscle?

We’re Running Two Group Work Parties a Month

There will be one each month on a Saturday morning and one on a weekday afternoon. Check here for the schedule. You don’t need to RSVP; just show up at the instructed site, dress appropriately for yard work say hello to the Trail Team Lead and we’ll put you to work. It’s fun!

Rather Work Alone?

Adopt a Trail (or section of meadow, beach, a bunker or…)

Would you rather work alone and on your own schedule? You can “adopt” a section of trail, a bunker, a piece of meadow or a section of beach, to name a few.

You’ll get training and guidelines from park staff, but you pick the area of focus and frequency of work.

Interested? There will be two meetings at The Commons where you can learn more.

1)  April 8 at 10 am

2)  April 9 at 2:00 pm

How else can I help?

Physical labor not your thing? Donating money works too! Most people don’t know that the State doesn’t have the funds or staff for the type of habitat restoration that we do. Without volunteers and donations, it just won’t get done. Click HERE to donate.

Questions, contact us HERE.

Thanks for loving the park!
