Hosted by the Friends of Fort Worden State Park, the Expo provides an opportunity for you to be educated, through art, about our environment and the wildlife that thrive in it. This year's featured wildlife species is the orca whale, highlighted in presentations throughout the Expo by the Port Townsend Marine Science Center, and the Whale Museum of Friday Harbor.
The Expo presents local and regional artists and their wildlife and nature artwork in several different mediums including painting, sculpture, woodcarving, ceramics, and jewelry.
Participating artists include Larry Eifert, Gerald Rainwater, Diana Whitney (Port Townsend), Kenneth Campbell (Port Angeles), Susan Swapp (Anacortes), Sallie Zydek (Buckley), Lisa Kaplan (Seattle), Jeremy Keller (Chehalis), Monica Vandervieren (Snohomish), Diane Versteeg (Spokane Valley), Kim Middleton (Eastsound), and Cliff Scharf, Julie Fulkerson and Terry Woodall (Oregon).
In spite of wild weather, visitors to the 2008 Wildlife & Nature Art Exposition, featuring the fischer, enjoyed art, activities, and presentations. View snapshots of the event.
