We believe that parks are essential to our quality of life in the Pacific NW, and that community involvement is essential to the life of the Fort Worden Area Parks. Parks that thrive, rather than simply survive, are those that have active communities caring and fighting for them.
Volunteers play a vital role in sustaining the treasures that are the Washington State Parks, providing more than 200,000 hours of service each year (the equivalent of 100 full-time employees). Helping hands are needed everywhere for a wide variety of short and long term projects, providing interesting and rewarding volunteer opportunities for individuals, couples, schools, families, corporations, citizen groups and service organizations.
